Weddings

The other day I met up with a wonderful Bride and her sister. As I drove home it got me thinking about how magical a wedding day is. I LOVE weddings. I LOVE everything about the entire day from start to finish.

I love the way a mother helps her daughter get ready for that special big day.
The look in a fathers eyes as he walks his daughter down the isle.
The way the Groom looks when he sees his Bride for the first time that day.
The look in a Brides eyes as she recites her wedding vows.
The first kiss.
The proud look on the parents as they embrace a new family.
The first dance.
The little details that go into making this a special day.

I just wanted to share how blessed I am to be able to do what I do and be a part of this day. The magical moments that I am able to capture in images and give back to them for memories to last a lifetime simple make me HAPPY.

Hi!

So I just wanted to blog today..... about what?? Well I don't know but I just wanted to. So HI!! Hi to anyone who reads my blog. I want to be able to blog more but some days are just plain old boring... and I don't know what to blog about.. kind of like today. Not much happened.... church, park... lunch date w/ the hubby. Fun for me but it might be boring to read about.... so here I am just wanting to say HI!!! Also since a blog is better with a picture here is Stan and Faith at the park today.

Travel Dates for 2010

With ANOTHER baby coming this year I am trying to plan out my traveling schedule and get as much travel miles as possilbe. I know that once this bundle of joy gets here I'm going to be tied down for a few months. As of now I have only committed to going back home to Hawaii in October and Las Vegas in April. I have had a few people from the Seattle area interested in doing some family/portrait shoots and I am considering making a trip up North. Happy Birthday Elijah

Today my boy Elijah turns 13 and there are so many things that are going on in my head right now. One of them is where has the time gone? 13 years..... holy moly..... I can just close my eyes and remember watching him take his first steps or the first time he said mama. I miss him when he was little but those days have come and gone. I miss being his most favorite person in the world. There were days where he would want to tell me EVERY little detail that happened in his day. These days he is a typical teen..... and doesn't enjoy sharing ALL the detail of his day!! But Elijah if you are reading this I want you to know that I will ALWAYS love you even when we are going through the teen years. I will never stop loving you. I will still love you just the same as when you were 1 and 2..... and when you turn 20 and 30 and 40 and 50 I will still love you just the same.

Westlake Village Engagement Session: Ana & JT

Oh Mr. Rain man..... there was no stopping us this time. I had rescheduled this engagement shoot 3 times because of rain. The first time we scheduled to shoot, it rained so hard that the news said it had never rained like that in over 100 years. The 2nd and 3rd time we rescheduled, it just wouldn't stop. I have never watched the weather forecast so much in my life as I did for this shoot. We finally found one of the best days we could have ever asked for and shot at the Westlake Village Inn.

I met Ana (and the rest of the Grey family) through her sister Sisa and became attached to this family as if they were my own. Ana is Sisa's younger sister but at times I feel so close to them that she could almost be my younger sister. Ana & JT are getting married in June and for those of you who know this family knows that it's gonna be a fun filled evening with lots of love, laughter and tears of joy. I think I am just as excited for this wedding as I was for my own. Congratulation Ana & JT. I am so happy for the both of you.

SoCal Photog Shootout - Pasadena, CA

Last Thursday I drove an hour to Pasadena to attend the SoCal Photog Shootout. The tickets went on sale at 7:00 pm on Feb 1st and were completely sold out by 7:02 pm. Knowing that I had a ticket in my had made me feel like the luckiest person ever. I met up with about 50 other photographers at the Romanesque Room. We shot everything... the engagement shoot, getting ready pics, ceremony, reception, cake cutting, from the first dance to the very last dance. I learned so much and got to meet a bunch of very talented photographers that helped put this event together. As I drove home that night my feet hurt and my brain wanted to explode with an overload of information but all I could do was smile and be thankful that this is what I get to do for a living and that alone has made me double, triple, quadruple thankful that this is my life.
